Surface & Swab Testing

Laboratory testing used to identify mold present on building materials and surfaces.

Direct Surface Swabbing

When suspicious growth or discoloration is observed, surface swab samples may be collected. Using sterile sampling tools, we gather material from the affected area so it can be examined by a laboratory to determine whether mold is present.

Tape-Lift Sampling

Tape-lift sampling is commonly used on materials such as drywall, wood, and masonry. This method collects mold structures from the surface while preserving their form, allowing laboratory specialists to identify mold characteristics.

Mold Type Identification

Surface samples help determine the types of mold present on materials. Laboratory analysis identifies the mold genus and helps provide a clearer understanding of environmental conditions within the property.

Detailed Testing Documentation

All results from surface sampling are documented in a detailed report. This report provides laboratory findings, photographs when applicable, and professional observations based on the inspection and testing process.
